One More Time

Mr. Gore,

You have been right about so many of the issues that our generation has faced over the last several years…and although I wish I could vote for you in this election but I can’t. I am 26 years the first time that I voted was in the 2000 presidential election, an election where I believe our government failed us and subsequently we have spent the last 7 years in the dark. My friends are in Iraq, my family is constantly stressed about economic problems and my planet continues to suffer. But we the people believe that we have found another leader who is willing to do what is right and not just what is popular, a man who is willing to put himself out there to inspire others to be better. I have always been jealous of past generations that have had amazing leaders and not just politicians. I watch footage of speeches made by JFK and FDR and hope that maybe just maybe someone will take a stand and inspire us to be better. Well I don’t know if Senator Obama is that man, but he did inspire
me to write this letter to you and become more active in politics and to volunteer at schools in my area and help raise awareness about parts of he world whose brightest days don’t even begin to compare to our darkest days and urge my friends and family who have never voted before to do so this year but most importantly he has inspired myself and my generation to believe that we can be better. With the proper leadership we can be better than any of us
could even begin to imagine.

Sir, you literally have the power to alter the course of history with press conference, with one statement, with one endorsement of a single man that represents so much than we had thought. As a citizen of the United States of America and more importantly as a member of the human race I ask you to do the right thing.
