Yes We Can!
Dear Mr. Vice President:
My name is Erin Moyse. I am 25 years old, and am a volunteer for the Tampa Bay O-Train, a grassroots group who has tirelessly dedicated itself to supporting Senator Obama’s campaign. Being Floridians, it has been a tough year for our party and our candidate, but we have been pushing as hard as we can to help in the early states and the other states whose votes ‘count’. I was not old enough to vote for you when you ran in 2000, but have been a
supporter since I was old enough to know who you were. I had never been seriously involved in the political process until I heard Senator Obama speak for the first time. Immediately, I was a believer. We have the opportunity now to show the kind of foresight that Senator Barack Obama illustrated when he opposed the war from the start, and it is for this reason that I ask that you endorse his candidacy.
Please consider endorsing Senator Obama’s campaign for President. I feel that his motives and inspirations are much more along the lines of yours than the rest of his opponents, and while I have the utmost respect for President Clinton, I do not feel that Hillary can unite the country the way Barack can. Senator Obama is the one candidate who can unite our country in this time of great turmoil. He has inspired the young, the old, the politically apathetic and so many in between, to not only have faith again in the political process as a whole, but also to take the personal responsibility and initiative to be actively involved in it. This is why I support him, and why I ask you to support his efforts as well.
